We’ve had another fun-filled and busy week in year 5!
Our space topic in science is now fully underway! This week, we learnt about the heliocentric view of the universe and how the earth and the planets orbit the sun. We acted out the orbits with children showing the path of each planet! Ask the children what rhyme they made up to help them remember the names of the planets!
We have been hard at work writing formal letters to the owners of Crayola to complain about the crayons in our story “The Day the Crayons Quit”. Ask us why we are so furious!

We are also working hard to learn the countries of South America; quiz your child at home to test our knowledge!

Finally, we have been focusing in RE on how to use our God given talents to help others. We wrote a promise on our handprint and stuck it on the wall to remind us to fulfil our promises over the week. Hopefully we can carry on using our gifts to help you parents at home over the weekend!

Thanks for a great week, year 5.
