The Dogs Trust
Year 4 were extremely lucky to receive a visit from Anthea and her cute, furry and extremely excited dog called Mavis.
Anthea told us exactly what Dogs Trust do and we even got to experience what it would be like to work for them as she gave us the difficult task of trying to rehome dogs to appropriate families. The children did so well deciding who, if any one, were to be matched and why.
William and Erin experienced one of the yuckier (yet essential) jobs of picking up poo – it was fake! Phew! Roisin got to groom Mavis and four lucky children got to give her a little fuss at the end of the session too!
We learnt so much about the responsibilities of having a dog, how to behave around them, the lawful do’s and don’ts but most of all, we learnt what a wonderful job Dogs Trust do.
Thank you Andrea, Mavis and the Dogs Trust team!
