Thursday 5th March is World Book Day; a day to help to foster a love of reading in our children. To celebrate this day at All Souls’, we have decided to have a dress up and activity day. Children are invited to dress up as a book character or in their pyamas for the day (teaching staff will also be dressing up!). During the course of the day, children will take part in a variety of activities both in their classrooms and across school.

Our annual competition this year will take place in children’s classrooms. A winner for each phase will be picked and awarded with a prize!

From Wednesday 18th – 25th March we are holding a Scholastic Book Fair, in the school hall, where children and their families can browse and purchase books from £2.99. Children will also have been given a £1.00 Book Token to spend. Once we have made £300 worth of sales, school can access at least 25% of the amount to spend on books for our class reading areas. We hope that you will support this venture.

This year, we would like to get up and running an ‘All Souls’ Book Swap’, a new way for children to find a great book to read, to recycle books they’ve finished with and to encourage reading for pleasure. More details of this will follow soon but to help us get it up and running,we would appreciate any book donations (age 3 – 11years).

Thank you for your continuing support.
