As part of their preparation for Confirmation, Year 6 Confirmandi gathered together on Saturday in our parish hall for tea and cake.

Father Paul then invited us into Church to talk more about Baptism. We gathered around the Baptismal font to discuss the different signs and symbols of Baptism before renewing our Baptismal Promises together and being blessed with holy water.

We then walked over to Hearsall Baptist Church where Rev. David Stucliffe welcomed us into his Church.

We discussed the similarities between both Churches and took a closer look at the biggest difference: the Baptistry. Some children experienced what it might be like to be baptised in the Baptistry and how this differs from the Baptismal Font in our Church. Despite all the differences, we learned that both parishes believe in the the same God and together we are all part of God’s family.
