All Souls’ Day, also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed and the Day of the Dead, is a day of prayer and remembrance for the souls of those who have died.

Year 6 enjoyed sharing in a whole school prayer service in which we learnt about why this day is important in the Church and also why it is an important day for us as a school.
As our going forth activity, we each wrote a person that we would like to pray for this All Souls’ Day on a purple star to be offerred up at mass.
We left a candle lit on our prayer focus all day to remember those that have died. Lighting a candle reminds us to follow in Jesus’ light so we too will live with Jesus and the Saints in Heaven.
As it was also the naming day of our school, we enjoyed some yummy cakes too!
