Despite having less photographic evidence this week, we’re sure the children will agree that it has been another busy one, filled with plenty of learning opportunities across the curriculum in Year 4!
We have been busy drafting and editing our formal persuasive letters to Councillor Antony Tucker, ready to publish and post next week. In Maths, we have been getting to grips with numbers up to 10,000, counting 1, 10, 100 and 1,000 more and less, as well as exploring our 9 times tables. Playing Hit the Button to practise these became very competitive in our table groups! These extra tables stars helped Blue Table earn some very well-deserved sweet treats.
In RE, we explored a key moment involving Abraham and his son, Isaac, which prompted some really meaningful thoughts and questions from the children (and grown ups!). We used classification keys in Science, made generalisations about North and South American cities in Geography, and enjoyed a Spanish phonics lesson learning the sounds of the Spanish alphabet. We also LOVED Drawing Time, where we each followed instructions to turn the word ‘cat’ into a cat!
This week was extra special as we welcomed Milo into our class family. He has already begun to settle in so well, and we would like to say a special thank you to all the friendly, helpful and welcoming faces across our Year 4 team who made him feel so welcome.
There have been moments this week when we have needed to remind one another about our school rules of being ready, safe and respectful, but Year 4 rose to the challenge and finished the week as shining examples of what it means to be a wonderful team. Keep it up, Year 4!
