Following the success of the Go Parks Challenge that took place during lockdown in February, Go Parks have decided to run another competition during October. This will start on Friday October 1st and will run all the way through to the end of October.
Go Parks challenge is a competition between all schools in Coventry where families visit sites around the city scanning QR codes. Every time a QR code is scanned our school earns points. Prizes will then be given out to schools competing based on various conditions. Last time we placed 5th in our group – I’m sure this time we can do better!
They have added more sites this time (another 14) and are not restricting your visit to local parks only – in fact they are trying to encourage you to visit as many of the sites as possible. You can still only scan each site once per day but you can visit multiple sites each day. If there are 4 people with you when you scan make sure all four have been added to gain maximum points.
Please click on the link below to view an interactive map with all the QR code locations.
Following feedback from both teachers and parents they have tried to make the scanning process easier by using Go CV memberships. All residents of Coventry are entitled to sign up to GO CV free of charge – this will not only allow you to take part in the challenge but also gives you discounts to local attractions, e.g. Discount entry at The Wave, free entry to the Transport Museum and many many more.
If you have already signed up To Go CV then you can use your current membership to start scanning. If you have not yet signed up simply visit https://portal.go-cv.co.uk/Member/Account/Register to register for free.
Once registered you can create a group to add all your family members – when you scan you can then add all the members quickly and easily to gain more points for our school.
Even if you are a resident outside of Coventry, you can still sign up for a Go CV membership to take part in the challenge, however you will not have the benefit of discounts to the various attractions in the city.
During the month the Go Parks team will also be offering various free workshops at the parks.
