It has been another busy week in the wonderful world of Year 4.
As always, we all loved our ukulele lesson with Mr Evans in which we learnt a new chord and tune that allowed us to play twinkle, twinkle, the alphabet song and even create our own words to sing along too!
We continued cracking fractions in maths this week, working out how to calculate fractions of amounts. Ask them what 2/3 of 27 is or 5/8 of 56… prepare to be as amazed as I was with their super skills!
We delved further into the world of Narnia as we helped to make C.S.Lewis’s setting description a little more WOW before describing a fantasy setting of our own.. cue the unicorns, rainbows and skittles falling from the sky! But more importantly, see if you can spot the adventurous figurative language they crafted…
On Tuesday, we had our first whole school Mass of the year – it was lovely to see so many of you there! A special ‘Well Done!’ to Emily C, Isla and Bridget who all read their bidding prayers beautifully and were shining examples to the rest of the school.
This week, two groups of Year 4 led two separate prayer services to Year 5 based on the themes of sadness and love. Both prayer services were planned well and delivered with reverence to share their important messages.

On Thursday, we had some visitors who came in to talk to us about UNICEF. We learnt about who they are as a charity and what they do. We considered the impact of climate change on all of us and discussed how we can all help!
We ended the week with a whole school chat with different subject leaders to listen to the children’s voices and try to make All Souls an even better place to learn and have fun! Thank you so much to all of the children for being so confident and forthcoming with their opinions and ideas.
Everyone should have received a copy of our class newsletter today. As always, should you have anything you wish to discuss further, please do not hesitate to come and see me.
Thank you for another fabulous week, Year 4. Have a lovely weekend!
