This afternoon, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Year 5 and introducing myself to them as their new Year 6 class teacher. They were an absolute delight! I am extremely looking forward to helping them to have a fabulous final year at All Souls! Mrs Elkins is also feeling very lucky to be with Year 6 next year, especially as she worked with them from the beginning of their journey back in Nursery through to Reception and Year 1.

They had to order themselves – without talking – into a few different ways. Surprisingly, the majority of them did well although a few did struggle with not letting sound escape from their mouths!

They then had to think about what they were looking forward to…

… and any questions we wanted to ask!

They then had to decide what made a perfect pupil, cool classmate and terrific teacher to create some agreed class rules for next year to make sure they have a fabulous one!IMG_7910    IMG_7916 IMG_7917

Finally, Year 5 were set with the task of selling themselves to me. They really had to think about why they wanted to be in Year 6, why they deserved it and what they had to offer…IMG_7919

After listening to them present their case, it was difficult not to say yes, it was clear that they were all ready for Year 6 and I am really looking forward to welcoming them in properly.

Summer Holiday Tasks – I have provided them all with a few little tasks to keep them occupied over the summer holidays that I look forward to receiving! In the meantime, have a very happy and memorable end to Year 5 and safe summer holidays recharging those batteries!
