Curriculum Unit Homework Task
Set: Monday 14th January 2019
Due: Friday 22nd March 2019
Life is a Journey: Confirmation
As part of your Confirmation journey, you are asked to select a Saint’s name to embrace. This should be someone who is a strong catholic role model that you aim to follow on your journey to heaven. It is important to understand the life journey of that particular Saint during these preparation months. The Saint you choose can be someone whose life and/or teaching you look up to. Perhaps the Saint shares a common interest or passion that you do. Perhaps instead, that Saint shares a trait that you desire for your own life.
This term’s homework task is to choose the Saint who inspires you the most and present their journey.
Your project should show understanding of the following areas:
- Why we choose a Saint’s name for Confirmation
- A summary of the events of your Saint’s life including any obstacles or struggles they overcame
- An overview of their catholic journey
- Their qualities, accomplishments and what they are known for
- The reason you chose this Saint and what makes you want to be like them
- How you will try to be more like them as you prepare for Confirmation and how you will continue to try to be like this Saint after you are confirmed.
You could also write a prayer to this Saint asking for guidance through this journey.
If you need any help with ideas or access to resources, please come and ask and I will help in any way that I can.
I am really looking forward to seeing what you produce and sharing your work with your parents and/or sponsors at our Saint-speeding event and the rest of the school on our Celebration Day.
Good luck!
