Cross Country

On Saturday 13 girls took part in the Girls Coventry Schools Cross Country Race. The ‘A’ team ran first and finished in an incredible 5th out of 34 schools. The ‘B’ team ran equally as well finishing in an amazing 6th out of 23 Schools.

A special mention to Aoife and Layla from Y2 who ran in the ‘B’ race. They were the youngest runners on the day and finished individually in 52nd and 75th respectively. This is a fantastic achievement as there were more than 180 runners on the day, well done girls!

5-a-Side Football

Both our boys and girls 5-a-side football teams took part in the Coventry Finals on Tuesday. The girls, who were coached by Mrs Ward, played brilliantly all afternoon. They reached the semi-finals by winning all of their group games but unfortunately were knocked out by the eventual winners. The Boys who played better and better as the tournament went on managed to get to the final. They gave everything in the final and everyone put in a very determined performance. After drawing 0-0 the match went to extra time, unfortunately though their effort wasn’t quite good enough as they lost to a strong St John Vianney team. Superb effort by everyone you should all be very proud!

KS1 Agility Challenge

23 children from Year 1 and 2 went to the Xcel Centre on Thursday to take part in an agility challenge. They competed in 6 different events on the day – javelin, chest push, sprinting, speed bounce, target throw and long jump. We won’t find out how we have got on for a couple of weeks as there are another 30 schools taking part in the event. Well done to everyone who took part.

Football Match

The Year 5 and 6 football team took part in their penultimate match of the season against St Thomas More School yesterday. It was an extremely close competitive match from start to finish which either team could have won. Unfortunately, it was St Thomas More who were victorious as they scored the only goal of the game near the end of the first half. Final league game of the season is on Thursday 28th March against St Augustine’s.

Player of the Match: Harry (Y5)
