This week Year 5 have been on the move as refugees fleeing the UK amidst the recent protest and riots. Each child had only 10 minutes to strategically choose 6 essential items to take with them to trade with truck drivers and fishermen on their journey to a safe haven. They lost several of their items to bad weather or unexpected circumstances on the way and even had to decide which family members to leave behind at the shore, as the boats reached full capacity!

It gave the children a great insight into the current plight of the millions who are displaced around the world and they produced some wonderful diaries of their ‘day in the life of a refugee.’ Thank you to #CAFOD for the inspiring simulation activity and for helping us to understand the plight of all those who seek shelter and safety.
