Lorcan, James and Pierce led a beautiul and well-prepared prayer service for Year 6 and Reception today.
They explained clearly to their prayer friends what Lent is all about it, read and explained relevant scripture and included some lovely prayers. They were also given the chance to discuss what they had decided to give up this Lent. Reception listened so well and were able to answer lots of questions after.
Both classes really enjoy this special time they spend together every week.

Year 6 looked fabulous as they entered the classroom this morning dressed as all their favourite book characters!
Year 6 have been dancing their way through the week after learning all about the origin of Salsa dancing. They practised the basic rhythm before pairing up and showing off their moves.
Years 1 – 6 were joined by Atomic Abby from Mad Science this morning. She showed us some really cool Science experiments and told us all about the Mad Science afterschool club we are going to be hosting.
The afterschool club will take place on a Wednesday (3.15 – 4.15pm) for 12 weeks (13/03 – 19/06). It is £90 for the full 12 sessions which works out at £7.50 per session (payment plans are available) including a take-home goody!
More details and information about how to book your place online will be on the letter sent home today. You will have to be quick though – there are only 25 spaces available!

As we have a few celebrations coming up, we have invited children to come into school in non-uniform on the following dates:
Thursday 7th March – World Book Day – Dressed as their favourite character from a book (£1 donation to the School Building Fund)
Friday 15th March – St Patrick’s Coffee Morning – Dressed in green
(please donate cakes to be sold during the coffee morning)
Friday 22nd March – British Science Week celebration – Dress as crazy/famous Scientists (£1 donation to the School Building Fund)
Please remember, these are all optional but if you do wish to take part, there are some great ideas online that are inexpensive and easy to create.
We will be celebrating British Science Week from the 11th – 15th March 2019.
The theme this year is ‘Journeys’ and it is a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Throughout the week, we will be doing lots of exploration around the theme of journeys and the Science all around us which will involve a competition too!
On Friday 22nd March, we are inviting children to come into school dressed as a famous of mad Scientist.
On this day, we will also be having a whole school quiz and assembly to announce the competition winners and find out what each class has been up to!
There will also be a Mad Science assembly on Tuesday 5th March for Y1 – Y6 to launch an exciting opportunity to join a Mad Science after school club. Letters outlining the details and cost of this will be sent out following the assembly.
Year 6 made the most out of the sun today as they took time out of their busy day to listen to our new class book, ‘The Chronicles of Harris Burdick’, that we’re currently reading for pleasure.
As a reward for writing stunning narratives and as an opportunity to read their stories aloud for a real audience, Year 6 visited their prayer friends in Reception today. Reception listened so well to their stories which were read beautifully and both classes really enjoyed the experience.
