ADVENT

ADVENT

Year 6 displayed impeccable behaviour today at the cinema. We all really enjoyed ‘Zoo’ – it deepened our understanding of what life was like for civilians during WW2 and fitted in perfectly with out theme of Heroes and Villains. Tom and his friends overcame the odds and rescued Buster the baby elephant!
Thank you to Dyan, Nathan, Pierce and Reuben who prayerfully delivered a lovely class liturgy based on the theme of LOVE. It was a lovely way to end our week and begin our weekend!

Who needs Maths books or whiteboards when we are allowed to write on tables (with whiteboard pens of course!)?
Year 6 used venn diagrams today to find the highest common factors of two different numbers!

That’s what Year 6 have been exploring in Science this week. Ask them what they found out.

Just to remind you that Year 6 will be going to the Odeon Skydome cinema in Coventry tomorrow to watch ‘Zoo’, which fits in well with our curriculum theme of ‘Heroes and Villains’.
The children should come to school as normal in their school uniform with a waterproof coat. We will be back in time for lunchtime.
As the film showing is fully booked, I ask that children take a sensible drink and small snack to the cinema with them rather than purchasing them at the kiosks to avoid queueing times and inflated prices.
I am sure they will have a fabulous time – what better way is there to spend a Friday morning!

Just a reminder that your ‘Heroes and Villains Home Learning Task‘ is due in on
FRIDAY 30th NOVEMBER.
We are really looking forward to seeing what you have all been busy creating during the past ten weeks!
HEROES & VILLAINS
Who are they?
This term’s homework task is to choose a hero or villain from the past or present as your focus. This could be someone historical, current, religious, famous, animated, fictional or imaginary. For example: James Bond, a family member, Martin Luther King, Robin Hood, Superman, Cruella De Vil, etc.
You are to then think of a way in which you can share this with the rest of the class. Some ideas could include: a poster, a model, a PowerPoint presentation, a story, a comic, a piece of artwork – you can be as imaginative and creative as you like!
If you need any help with ideas or access to resources, please come and ask and I will help in any way that I can.
I am really looking forward to seeing what you produce and sharing your work with the rest of the school on our Celebration Day.
Good luck!
Thank you to everyone who came into school this morning dressed up and donated £1 to support Children in Need, a charity who helps disadvantages children and young people in the UK. As a school, we raised £215. Well done!

Thank you to Lucy, Muno, Ocean and Lily who planned and delivered a very thoughful and reverent prayer service this afternoon based on the theme of ‘Forgiveness’.

Year 6 have been busy making periscopes this week in Science. We used them to explore how mirrors help us to see things out of our field of vision!
