Year 3 writing and ordering Roman Numerals on a ‘clock’.
Busy in science taking part in an experiment to see if distance from a light source
changes the size of a shadow.
To complete our topic The Romans Year 3 took to the field and prepared for battle.
In two ‘legions’ the children worked on different Roman battle formation moves.

Well done to Year 3 who behaved so well during our trip to the Lunt Roman Fort.
We had an amazing and informative day.
The children participated in a range of activities, listened intently to ‘Rufus the Roman auxillary Soldier’ as he described life in the Roman Army.
the children handled artefacts, took part in marching like Romans, followed orders from Rufus ending the day ‘in battle’.
The day brought our history lessons to life.
Unfortunately our trip clashed with our day of Science Celebrations. An alternative date will be arranged for the children to celebrate and dress up (optional) as soon as this has been confirmed I will send a letter home.
Homework this week will be brought home on Monday 25.3.19 to be returned on Friday 29.3.19.
Sunday School on 24th March 2019 at 9am.

These were some of the questions the children of Year 3 were busy investigating.
Painting like Monet.
The children continued their study of the artist Claude Monet. Using glue sticks and flat brushes the children used a techniques known as tache to create their masterpieces.
A huge thank you to the children of Year 6 for making Miss McGinn and I so welcome on Thursday morning.
To celebrate International Maths Day each teacher taught a maths lesson in a different year group.
We focused on a fast paced times table challenge and strategic problem solving.
The children engaged with the activity, displaying resilience, perseverance and great maths skills.

British Science week has begun with a big question!
To celebrate British Science week each child was invited to ask a ‘burning’ scientific question.
Here are a few of the children’s questions.

After a class vote our class question is..
How does electricity reach our school?
The children engaged with the launch of British Science week with interest.
Over the next two week we will be using our research skills to find our answer.
