Y3 Sealife Centre & Legoland Discovery Centre trip – STILL GOING AHEAD

We have spoken to the Sealife Centre and Legoland Discovery Centre this morning and confirmed that they will remain open at this time.Therefore, the trip tomorrow will go ahead as planned.

The venues have assured that they are taking hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and we will of course ensure that the children wash their hands regularly.

If you have any concerns about your child going on the trip then they may stay at school tomorrow. Please ensure you let the school office know this will be the case.

Y2 & choir trip to Belgrade Theatre postponed

The Belgrade Theatre have made the difficult decision to close due to the current COVID-19 situation. Therefore, the trip tomorrow has been cancelled.

We are currently liaising with the theatre regarding the tickets being transferred to a later date or another show. We will update you again soon.

COVID-19 UPDATE : A message from Mrs Quinn

A MESSAGE FROM MRS QUINN, HEADTEACHER:

Please can I assure you that there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at All Souls’. We have a number of children currently absent due to sore throats, raised temperatures and coughs.

We are grateful to those families who have informed us of these symptoms and taken the decision to isolate their child. As per the current Government guidance, whole families are now being told to self isolate should any one member display symptoms.

We will not be providing work packs for those children absent at this time (unless in exceptional circumstances). Please encourage your child to:

  • Read – their reading book or other books at home
  • Write – keep a diary, write a review on a book they’ve read, write a story
  • Practice their spellings and times tables
  • Stay active – gentle indoor exercises
  • Say their prayers – they could try writing their own
  • Art – get creative with the resources you have at home

I take the health of our staff, children and their families very seriously and thank you for your cooperation and support during these difficult times.

As a precautionary measure we feel it is common sense to postpone the following events:

St Patrick’s Day coffee morning – Tuesday 17th March

Y6 Speed Sainting – Wednesday 18th March

Y3 & Y4 Lenton Reflection – Wednesday 8th April

Staff have today been briefed on a new hand washing regime and children will be shown a video on how to wash their hands properly on a regular basis.

We have also ordered a large quantity of hand sanitising products to supplement our current supply.

Rest assured we are taking the current Coronavirus situation very seriously and are in receipt of daily updates from both the Government and Local Authority. We will of course follow their advice and act accordingly.

Y1 & Y2 Parent Consultations – CANCELLED

Mother’s Day meals now available to book

You are now able to book in for the Mother’s Day meals via SIMS Pay (please go to the EVENTS section) – this is open to our lovely mummies, carers, grannies, aunties, etc!

There is a strict cut off time of 12 noon on Wednesday 11th March for bookings as the kitchen will need to submit their ingredients order to their suppliers.

Please note if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, you will only need to book the adult meal via SIMS Pay as your child will automatically receive their free school meal as normal and pre-order in the classroom.
