As part of our journey through Lent and looking forward into Holy Week, this week Year 5 took part in a tasting of a traditional Jewish Passover meal.
We looked into the symbolism and meaning of each food item before a taste test.
We all had our favourites (most chose matzah) and those we did not enjoy as much, but all children should be commended for trying new foods and discussing the topic in a mature and sensible way.

Year 5 certainly are!
Well done to all the children who have practised incredibly hard over the past few weeks. Their efforts paid off in an amazing performance at our Science Odyssey themed Mousike Ensemble.
Thank you to all visiting schools and staff: St. John Fisher, Corpus Christi and Christ the King. It was an excellent chance to share talents and celebrate musically.

We would like to warmly invite all parents, carers and members of our community to our St. Patrick’s Day Coffee morning which is taking place on this Friday 15th March from 9:15am-12pm. The morning will be a change to celebrate the day by getting together over coffee and a cake and being entertained by a series of performances by each class and followed by our own Irish dancers.
Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 will be singing between 10am-10:30am.
Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will be singing between 11am-12am.
Entrance to the event will cost £3.50 per person, which includes unlimited tea and coffee and a selection of cakes on each table. Additional cakes will also be on offer to purchase, either to eat at the event or to take home for later. Raffle tickets and Irish coffees will also be available for sale on the morning.
Well done to all children for their fabulous costumes! It’s clear there are a few favourite series here in Year 5.

Year 5 will continue to use the text over the next few weeks – writing and performing some of their own versions of the Highwayman’s tale. Stay posted for updates!
This week, the spring forest school have had their first session and we had loads of fun and learned so many survival skills and activities.
We started the afternoon by playing a fun camouflage game. We had to hide in the grounds and the person who is on had to try and find them inside the area (the game was called 123 where are you).
Then we made little castles and houses for tiny animals, human-like fairies and mice. At the end we gave everyone else a tour of our little homes.
This week we had loads of fun and forest school can’t wait for their next session.
