As a school, we will be raising money for the charity ‘Mind’ this Monday 10th October as part of World Mental Health day 2022. Children may come to school wearing a hat of any kind in return for a donation to ‘Mind’.
We felt very lucky to be able to spend time in prayer and reflection with our prayer friends this afternoon.
We spoke about Mission Month and prayed for God to help us make our school, homes and community a better place.
We then looked at the Month of the Holy Rosary and made a class set of Rosary beads, one for Reception and one for Year Six, to help us to pray the Rosary in our classrooms this.
What an incredible trip! Our first one of the year and what an amazing experience it was. The children were inquisitive, engaged and demonstrated their knowledge of the faith as well as asking such insightful, wondering questions.
We learnt all about this incredible building and it’s history as part of our local faith community. As we moved around the different parts of this beautiful place of worship, we took opportunities to reflect in thought and prayerfulness about how our faith has at times been challenged and the courageous people that fought for their faith.
The tour guides, priest and parishioners all commented on how respectful, engaged and reflective our children were. They showed our school values and really did the whole school community proud.
A beautiful, powerful trip with a wonderful class. Well done Year Six!
Today we celebrated mass together as a whole school to give thanks to God for our harvest and all the good we have to be thankful for.
Thank you for all of your generous donations to the food bank.
We had a brilliant morning performing and doing some harvest activities with the residents at Earlsdon Park. They were really impressed with our behaviour and attitude and have asked that we come back again soon! We made Autumnal wreaths, scarecrows, coloured in some lovely Autumn pictures and even read with the residents!
Daniel and Sophia also did some planting and it will be great to see how they are growing when we go back. Here are some pictures of our morning.
Two messages for parents:
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Clarke
Dear parents/ carers,
We will be going to Earlsdon Retirement Village on Friday 23rd September as part of the All Souls’ charity outreach programme from 10.30-11.30.
We will be singing 2 songs to the residents, reading with them and doing some harvest activities. I have attached the songs so the children can practice at home.
Please ensure your child has suitable footwear and a coat on this day.
Have a great weekend!
Miss Clarke
We have loved working alongside the parish to grow fruit and vegetables last year that are now available in our Church with donations going to CAFOD. We cannot wait to start growing this year and look forward to hopefully beginning our very own vegetable garden here on the school grounds.
We will need some help with materials and expertise so please keep a look out in the newsletter if you feel you can help in any way.
We pray for a fruitful harvest for our global family this year.
We were excited to have a visit from Father Paul this week to talk to us about receiving our sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. We had the chance to ask questions and learn just a little bit about what will happen over the next few weeks.

We look forward to showing our commitment to the next step of our faith journey at the commitment masses and joining the sacramental preparation sessions (dates below)
Saturday 24th September at 5pm – Y6 parent and child sacramental meeting
Saturday 1st October at 5pm – Y3 parent and child sacramental meeting
Sunday 2nd October at 9.30am – Confirmation commitment
Sunday 9th October at 9.30am – Holy Communion commitment
Thank you to all the parents who have returned the forms to Fr Paul it is very much appreciated
Year 2 have drawn some fantastic pictures of HRH Queen Elizabeth II on the sad occasion of her passing. We have put the pictures up in our classroom to remember her during this mourning period.
May she rest in peace.
