The children were excited to have a sneak peek at the wonderful books that are on sale at this week’s Book Fair! The doors open officially from 4th – 7th February in our school hall, 3.15pm to 3.45pm. Please come along and support us. The more money we take, the more books we can buy for our school!
We have started a new topic in maths this week so we decided to use the cubes to help us to master division of 3 and 4 digit numbers. We learnt a new method to help us to divide whole numbers and checked our answers using the inverse operation.
Working in pairs and using our sets of cubes helped us to create a range of number sentences. We also challenged some of the incorrect answers that Tiny the Turtle had tried to trick us with. Better luck next time Tiny!
This week we opted not to do a challenge but instead worked together in groups and got very creative!
Our LEGO challenge this week was to create our names on a board. This wasn’t easy as some letter formations took a lot of thought to make them work. We did a fantastic job! We also managed to squeeze in some free play 😀
Year Six have been exploring the work of Morag Myerscough as part of their art unit, “Brave Colour”
They worked on creating a stylised double page spread about her, aiming to include key facts, skills and characteristics of her many works.
We look forward to working to cfeate our own Morag-esque piece for a well-known building in Coventry needing some love and attention.
Yesterday Year 1 had their first computing lesson of the term. They were learning how to log on to Chromebooks and how to use the touchpad mouse. They finished the lesson using their new skills to complete an online paint by numbers picture.

Friday 7 February 2025.
Everything the NSPCC does protects children today and prevents
abuse tomorrow. The NSPCC need our support more than ever. By raising money, we can help to fund their vital services such as Childline – the helpline that’s always there for children and young people whatever their problem or concern. On average, a child contacts Childline every 45 seconds.
We will be taking part in Dress up for Digits and having a fun day of maths activities. Children are asked to wear an item of clothing with a number on it (football shirt, cap, netball shirt or even a onesie!). Or get even more creative by dressing in a maths or numbers theme, design your own t-shirt, hat, or even become a human sized calculator or dice!
To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for donations, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event. Please donate via GiftT. You can find the QR code below to help us support the NSPCC.

We’re really looking forward to all the fun of Number Day, and we really appreciate your support. All the money we raise at All Souls will make an enormous difference to children today and help the NSPCC be there for children tomorrow.

The Autumn term in Year 6 is over and what a fabulous one it has been – jam-packed with lots of learning, fantastic opportunities and ooodles of trips and events!
We are so proud of how well the children have grasped every opportunity that has come their way, both inside and outside of the classroom and how much they have grown. We are so lucky to be blessed with such wonderful children and families.
A huge thank you from all of us for your generous cards and gifts – they are very much appreciated! Wishing you all a family-filled, fun and relaxing break. We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!

We have had a fun and foodie-filled morning creating our Festive Rolls! The children designed a menu card detailing the ingredients and the method before we set to work to make our delicious treat.
The children carefully added the ingredients of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, garlic and cheese and rolled them into their individual Christmas Festive Rolls!
The end results were very impressive and a huge thank you for supporting the children at home to bake the items to perfection! Thank you for sharing the photographs and it was great to hear how much the children enjoyed creating and baking their items.
We hope that the children will be able to show you how to re-use and re-invent any surplus food from your Christmas dinner with their stylish new recipe!
