Year 2 had a great day celebrating their class saint. They had a morning of prayer and medication. Followed by a treasure hunt because he is the saint of lost things. Next, we had a party and chocolate cake to finish the day.
Today, our Year 5 and 6 girls football team proudly represented the school at the Catholic Schools Football Rally. They faced three strong teams in the league stage of the tournament. After a tough start with a narrow loss in their first match, the girls showed great determination and team spirit, bouncing back to draw their next two games.
Despite not progressing beyond the group stage, the team should be incredibly proud of their performance. They played with energy, teamwork, and a fantastic attitude from start to finish.
As part of the day, the girls also had the exciting opportunity to get up close to the official Premier League trophies for both the men’s and women’s competitions. They also took on the speed shot challenge, testing their power and accuracy in a fun and competitive setting.
It was a brilliant day of football, filled with great memories and moments of pride—well done to all involved!
A huge thank you and well done to our wonderful Y6 bakers!
As part of our DT project ‘Baked and unbaked goods’, the children planned, designed and made some absolutely wonderful creations to enter into our Bake Off Competition.
Our children, governors and staff thoroughly enjoyed trying all of the bakes and our winner was
Evie with a Rabbit’s Carrot Cake!
A fabulous morning and wonderful finale to our DT unit. Well done!
We were happy to welcome the MP for Coventry North, Taiwo Owatemi, to our school last week. She met with our Y5 and Y6 children to speak about her current campaigns and allow the children to ask any questions.
As part of our Live Simply work, the children asked Taiwo about what the government are currently doing to support the most vulnerable people of our world with the ongoing Climate Crisis. Taiwo said she was wiling to support the children’s writing asking the government to consider giving more support to those most in need during this difficult time.
We thank Taiwo and Kiki for their visit and look forward to their support in the coming weeks.
Year 6 launched their baked and unbaked goods unit of Design Technology with a taste test. There were mixed reviews for the desserts chosen and some definite favourites within the class.
The children have now designed, planned and published their recipes for their own bake and unbaked goods ready for the Great Year 6 Bake Off on Tuesday 2nd June 2025.
Recipes can be found on Google Classroom
Year 2 all worked incredibly hard. The all were given a jar of honey to make as much money as possible. They can to invent a product, make it and sell it in small teams. They all did amazing and it was a complete sell out! They made £140 profit, which they would like to use on a end of year trip and donate some to charity.
We could not be prouder of this incredible bunch of talented children!
You have approached this week with such dedication, determination and resilience. We could not have asked for anything else. Well done, Year 6! Mrs H, Mrs McG and Mrs K x
