Year 2 would like to thank the PTA for our new books. We took one of our new class readers to forest school to enjoy with a hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.

The Battle is well and truly underway between our house groups on
Times Tables Rockstars!
Although this has been set as homework for Key Stage 2 children, children in Key Stage 1 are also more than welcome to join in. This is a house group effort and all those who have contributed to the winning team’s score will receive extra play time after the competition has closed.

Today, Year 2 learnt all about the Gunpowder Plot. We did a puppet show to show what we had learnt.
We want to say a big thank you to our PTA. We now have a set of class reader books for each class which will make sure a range of books are read to the children over their time at All Souls. We will be hosting a book fair in the new year and following this, we hope to be able to add to the Nursery, Reception and Year 1 class reader sets .

As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools in England. The competition runs from 07:30 Tuesday 12th November 2024 to 19:30 Thursday 14th November 2024.
It’s all done online via play.ttrockstars.com.
Children can play in any gamemode with every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, earning themselves, their class and the school a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours, subject to a daily 60-minute limit (see below)). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average.
To support player wellbeing, there is a daily time limit of 60-minutes per player. Once the player goes beyond 60-minutes of play on that day, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition.
In the spirit of the competition, please don’t play on their behalf but by all means encourage and support them to play their part!
Year 2 and 4 have had a fantastic day exploring exotic animals at West Midlands Safari park!
After a morning driving through animal habitats we stopped by some fantastic rides for an afternoon of fun.
A big well done to both classes for outstanding behaviour and a huge thank you to staff and parent volunteers for accompanying us.
We went on a walk to the fairground to do some research for our setting descriptions. We spoke about what we might see, hear and taste and the fair if it was open. Then we did some amazing drawings. We will share them with you soon.
We loved telling Reception about our monsters that we have created. We read them our brilliant work and they listened very well. Thank you Reception for coming to see our amazing work.
Year 2 went mini beast hunting in two different micro habitats. We found lots of interesting creatures.
