On Tuesday 6 boys from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Football Catholic Rally at the AT7 Centre. They never lost a match in the group stage winning 1 and drawing 2 – this meant they finished in 2nd place on goals difference going into the quarter-finals.

The quarter-final against St Osburg’s was a close match finishing 2 -2. It was the same score after extra time which meant the game went to penalties. Everyone on our team scored their penalty and Percy (who was playing in goal for the first time) made a great save sending us through to the semi-final against St John Fisher.

The boys started fast in the semi-final, they pressed the ball well and didn’t allow John Fisher to settle. They won impressively 5 -1 sending them into the Final.

Corpus Christ was the opponent in the Final. Unfortunately having not lost a game all morning we came up just short in this game losing 5 – 2. They never stopped trying throughout the game and at one stage pulled it back from 3 nil to 3 -2. Well played everyone you were a credit to the school whilst you were there and fully deserve your silver medals.
