Year 4 Coding with Scratch!

28th April 2026Mr R YOUSON

Over the last few weeks in Computing, Year 4 have been developing their programming skills using Scratch — and the results have been fantastic!

The children have been designing and coding their very own racing games. They carefully created code to control their cars, making sure they could move smoothly around the track. They also programmed their games to prevent the cars from going off track, count laps accurately and include a working timer to track performance.

Today, we spent time debugging and improving our projects, making sure everything ran correctly. The children then added music to give their games an extra level of excitement and atmosphere.

To finish, the class had great fun trying out each other’s games to see who could achieve the fastest lap times. There was plenty of healthy competition and lots of impressive coding on display!

Click on the links below to try the games yourself and see what time you can set — can you beat the Year 4 records  – press the green flag once the game has loaded to start (you will need a keyboard to play the games).

Mini London Marathon

24th April 2026Mr R YOUSON

Mini Marathon Magic 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We held our very own School Mini Marathon in conjunction with the London Marathon, which takes place this weekend. It was a brilliant way for our children to feel part of this iconic national event while promoting health, fitness and resilience.

In the morning, our enthusiastic Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 children completed an incredible 1-mile run around the school grounds. Their energy and determination were wonderful to see, and they showed fantastic perseverance from start to finish.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of Key Stage 2, who rose to the challenge of completing an impressive 2-mile run. The resilience and encouragement shown between pupils was outstanding, and every child crossed the finish line with a real sense of pride and achievement.

We are especially proud to share that we have a couple of our parents are taking part in the London Marathon this weekend. We send them our very best wishes and lots of encouragement — we will be cheering you on every step of the way!

KS1 Gymnastics

25th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

On Tuesday, nine children from Year 1 and 2 took part in a gymnastics competition.

Over the past few weeks, they’ve been working really hard, practising both at home and in school with Miss Jade to perfect their routines. For many of them, this was their first time not only representing the school, but also performing in front of an audience and judges.

As a team, they achieved an incredible 68.1 out of 75 points—an amazing result!

We’re still waiting to hear where they placed overall, as other schools are competing throughout the week – as soon as we find out we’ll let yuou know.

Watch thier routines below.

Year 1 Mondrian Paintings

9th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

Today in Computing, Year 1 explored the work of the famous artist Piet Mondrian and used technology to create their own versions of his colourful artwork.

Using a drawing program on the computers, the children carefully created their own digital Mondrian-inspired paintings by adding lines and filling different sections with colour.

The class did a fantastic job showing creativity while also developing their mouse control, digital drawing skills and understanding of shape and colour in Computing.

Year 3 Gymnastics – March 2026

6th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

Ten Year 3 pupils took part in a gymnastics competition on Thursday 5th March. During the event, the children performed both a floor routine and a vault, and they did an excellent job showcasing their strength, balance and control.

The team performed brilliantly and achieved an impressive score of 98 out of 100. We are still waiting for the final results to see where they finished overall, and we will share this with you as soon as we receive the official standings.

A big thank you to Miss Jade for helping the children prepare so well for the competition.

Well done to all the children who represented the school so proudly!

Our Year 6 girls’ rowing team took part in the County Finals, competing against the winners and runners-up from Coventry East, Solihull North and West, and Warwickshire North, South and Central. The girls gave an outstanding effort, with many achieving personal best scores. In a very close competition, the team finished 4th overall, just 4 metres behind 3rd place and 7 metres behind 2nd place. It was a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition.

Well done to all the pupils who have represented the school so positively over the past few weeks!

17th December 2025Mr R YOUSON

On Monday, our Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed an exciting trip to Planet Ice. It was wonderful to see so much encouragement, resilience and teamwork on display as pupils challenged themselves and supported one another. Almost everyone had a fantastic time both on and off the ice — including Mrs Rae (eventually!).

Gotta Dance 2025

26th November 2025Mr R YOUSON

On Tuesday evening, our amazing dance team took to the stage at the Albany Theatre to take part in Gotta Dance Coventry 2025. The girls have been practising their two routines every Tuesday morning with Miss Jade, and all their hard work and dedication really paid off. Their performance was absolutely spectacular!

For many of the girls, this was their first time taking part in the event and, for some, their very first time performing on stage — but you would never have known. They were confident, professional, and full of energy from start to finish.

A huge thank you goes to Miss Jade from Elite Dance Academy for her time, creativity, and enthusiasm in preparing the team so brilliantly.

Well done, girls!

You were incredible, and we are already looking forward to next year’s show, which will take place on Thursday 26th November.

14th November 2025Mr R YOUSON

On Wednesday morning, four lucky children from KS2 took part in a Panathlon event at the Xcel Centre. They joined up with Eastern Green to make a team of eight and competed in a range of activities including kurling, basketball, and bowling. They all walked away with a medal after finishing in a fantastic 3rd place. Well done to all involved — you represented our school brilliantly!

Year 5 & 6 Football Match vs Earlsdon

24th October 2025Mr R YOUSON

On Thursday, our Year 5 and 6 football team were back in action — this time with a new group of children taking part. They faced a very strong Earlsdon side, and for several of our players, it was their first ever competitive match!

The team played brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork, and developing skills throughout the game. Although the final score didn’t go our way, with a 5–1 loss, we were incredibly proud of how the children conducted themselves and the determination they showed right to the final whistle.

Well done, everyone — a fantastic effort!
