I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy start to the New Year. Thank you all for the cards and very generous gifts; they were all very much appreciated.

We have had such a fun, fabulous and positive start back to Year 4 this week with 100% attendance too – well done!

We have started our new text, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, in Literacy after writing our own biographies about the fantastic author, C.S.Lewis. We are all very excited to get stuck into the world of Narnia and join Lucy, Peter, Susan and Edmund on their journey!

In Maths, we have been talking pizzas, chocolate bars and birthday cakes as we began our unit on fractions. All of the children have amazed me with how well they have persevered and progressed with this already!

A huge well done to all of the children who went to our first swimming lesson on Tuesday – you were all fabulous! And to the children in the choir, once again, another spectacular performance at the Young Voices concert.

We also kick-started our week back with a ukulele lesson in which we learnt a new chord and a new song all about a bumble bee, introduced our new History topic of The Stone Age to the Iron Age with our classroom timeline and learnt the names of the Continents in Geography with a very catchy song!

Please remember that this term PE is now on Mondays so children will need indoor kits and swimming on Tuesdays so children will need a swimming costume/shorts and a towel. All jewellery must be removed and all hair tied back.

Thank you all so much for coming to our Open Book evening. It was so rewarding to watch the children share their learning with you, talk you through their books and show you around our classroom environment – they were so proud, as I am, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Have a lovely weekend! 🙂
