Today, Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in a live lesson with published author, Nikita Gill, to learn about her writing techniques when writing poetry. The children were brilliant and worked hard to work at pace as she explained free verse, emotional context and taught them a whole new style of poetry.
The children learnt about Collum Lune poems and then had a go at writing their own using their free verse as inspiration for their 3 – 5 – 3 poem.
