Year 5 and Year 6 are heading to The Big Bang Fair at the NEC on Wednesday 11th March 2020 as part of BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK!

The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK. It is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits and careers information from STEM professionals.
The Fair gives young people the chance to hear from inspiring engineers and scientists from some of the UK’s biggest companies and find out about the opportunities available in STEM. Visitors can join us to discover virtual reality, medicine, marine biology, film and TV, space exploration, explosive chemistry, crime-solving, robots, computer coding, microscopic bugs, giant trucks and more.
Details
We are asking children to be in the school hall by no later than 8.30am so that we can make the most out of our morning. We will be leaving school soon after to arrive at Canley station in time for our train direct to the NEC. We will spend a couple of hours exploring the show before heading back on the train and walking back to school in time for lunch!
Children are to come dressed in their tracksuits with suitable footwear and a waterproof coat. They should also bring with them a water bottle and a healthy snack to keep them going until lunch.
Although the science fair is free, there will be a small charge for transport at £ per child. Please see SIMS Pay to provide consent and make payment.
We are sure this will be a worthwhile and exciting opportunity for both classes and look forward to seeing what’s going on at The Big Bang!
