WOW! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make World Book Day 2020 a complete success!

The theme this year was ‘Share a Story’ and my gosh did we do that!
It was so lovely to see the children come into assembly this morning dressed as their favourite book character or in their bedtime pyjamas!
Here’s what each year group looked like today – see if you can spot who is really who!
Nursery
Reception
Year One
Year Two
Year Three
Year Four
Year Five
Year Six
I’m sure you’ll agree that they all loooked FABULOUS!
Even the grown ups dressed up!
We had a very different type of assembly today as not only did we learn more about the World Book Day charity and what we could do to support them, we also embraced the theme as each teacher took it in turns to share a snippet of their favourite book!
By 10am, we had shared over 20 stories!

Each class then headed into our All Souls’ Book Swap Library to exchange their book swap token for a new book to take home and share. The children were so excited to see so many different books to choose from!
We even have a staff book swap up and running in our staff room!
Members of the Year 5/6 Book Club will be opening up our Book Swap Library on the last Thursday of every month to keep our book swapping going. Our next date for children to come and exhange their books will be Thursday March 27th. Once again, thank you all so much for your donations!
Competition Time!
Last but not least, it was competition time as each year group competed against another to win their World Book Day task. Winners will be announced in SuperStars tomorrow!

I really had fun yesterday listening while the teachers shared their story. I loved all the costumes! My favourite out of the teachers was Mrs Corkerry’s rabbit costume (but Mr Rolisons fox mask was so cool!).
P.s. Well Mrs Hartwell’s costume would have been the best if she acted as if she was gangsta granny.
I’m really glad you enjoyed it and agree that Miss Corkerry and Mr Rolison’s costumes were fab!
PS. I’m too cool to be a granny, Frank!
I really had fun dressing up and seeing everyone’s costumes I really enjoyed Mrs Hartwell’s costume it was great. I really liked the teachers reading us parts of their favourite books.
I really enjoyed world book day!! It was really cool and I am also extremely happy with the book I got from the book swap!
Which book did you swap it for?
I swapped it for ‘The secret garden’ !!
Fab choice! 🙂
