Wow – what a fabulous bunch of characters we had in our classroom today to celebrate World Book Day 2018! Thank you for your kind donations which will contribute to making our school library more rich and exciting!

We began our day designing our own book tokens to enter into the National Book Token competition – we are hoping we might have a winner among us because the prizes sound fab!

We then went into the hall to have a look at the super effort children across all year groups have put into the painting competition.

A special ‘Well Done’ to Ethan, who was voted Year 4’s winner and Josie, who was voted Year 4’s runner up! I was so pleased with them all!

Year 4 were very excited to bring in a book from home to read to Year 1. They were all paired up to share their stories and loved having the opportunity to do so! We even enjoyed sharing some of these much loved favourites after as a class!

Using our imaginations, Year 4 were then put to the challenge of using the character they had dressed up as, as the main character in a brand new story made up by them. I can’t wait to read them 🙂

A fantastic day!
