To end this term’s theme of Heroes and Villains, Year 6 participated in a Coventry at War workshop at the Herbert Art Gallery.

We engaged in a little bit of roleplay to understand the roles that different people had during World War 2. Mr Youson got in trouble by Warden Ward for leaving his lights on during the blackout!
We also got to use a siren to hear how loud the signals would have been! It was fascinating to explore the rest of the Herbert Art Gallery, including their Anderson, Morrison and Public shelters and see some real artefacts from the war.
We also walked through town, saw the Cathedral ruins and went to the Transport Museum to visit the Blitz experience.
As always, their behaviour was impeccable and they made us very proud showing off all they have learnt this term.
Everyone is excited to find out what next term’s topic is when we return after the Christmas holidays.
