We have had an extremely busy week in Year 6: continuing our preparation for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation; sympathising with the Samaritan woman in RE; improving our grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills in English; and really improving our written arithmetic skills in maths amongst many other things.
Today, we had the pleasure of watching Year 1’s Mothers Day assembly. It was great to see how much they have grown in confidence already. As it is 24 hours for the Lord, we also went to church to spend time in silence and stillness, as a class, focusing on Jesus and remembering His love and mercy for us. We spent the last hour of the day writing and preparing a little something for the very special Mum’s in our lives.
It was great to see the huge effort put into the homework this week and as mentioned before I was also really impressed with the effort put into practising the spellings. We have had fantastic attendance at our extra morning sessions too! It feels as though everyone is really upping their ante in preparation for the forthcoming SATs and transition into secondary school – the hard work is paying off. I am looking forward to seeing this continue.
Our Superstars this week were Owen and Drew for their hugely improved effort and concentration in Maths!
Well done to the netballers who played well last-night and good luck to all those taking part in sports events today and tomorrow.
Have a lovely weekend!
