St George’s Day

Following feedback and several requests from parents, we are pleased to announce that All
Souls’ will be celebrating St George’s Day with an Afternoon Tea Event on Friday 22nd April. This will take place in the school hall from 1.30 pm and your £2.50 entrance fee will get you tea, coffee & scones and entertainment from some of our talented musicians, performers and choir. There will also be a cake sale, a raffle and a visit from St George and his horse!

On the Friday children will be invited to wear red and white or to dress up in a traditional English costume (kings, queens, knights etc.) Even England Football and Rugby tops will be allowed (but not club kits!) Children can either bring in £1, a pack of cakes or a raffle prize donation to help us fund this event.

We really hope that this will become an annual celebration, but once again we are reliant on the generosity and support of our parents and families to make this happen. We also understand that this event comes hot on the heels of the St Patrick’s Day Coffee Morning, but as St George’s Day is traditionally celebrated at this time it would seem inappropriate to move the date and is therefore beyond our control!

We would really appreciate donations of cakes, scones, raffle prizes (bottles, unwanted gifts etc.) and any unwanted England flags, bunting or decorations, which we would hope to be able to reuse again next year if this event is a success.
