WOW! What a few weeks it has been. As the children are now settled into life in Year One, we thought we would show you just a little of what we have been up to.

These first few weeks our focus has been supporting the children to get used to the environment, helping them adjust to the new routines and build relationships with us and their friends. Assessments are well underway to ensure that the curriculum is everything that the children need and we continue to work on supporting the children to build resilience and self-confidence.

Please find a selection of photos below and use them as a talking point with your children to discover more about what we have been up to.

Today we sent out some of the Year One Common exception words, these are for you to keep at home and practise as much as you can with your children. First and foremost the reading of these words should be the focus but it would be great if with time you can start practising writing these with your children.

I know many of you are inquiring about reading books. We are still reviewing the safest and most efficient way to do this. In the meantime please use the free e-books available through https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/ and for phonics support please use the resources available at https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/ both are free to sign up for. If you need guidance on which phase or level your child should be accessing please do not hesitate to email to ask this.

Have a great weekend!
