Well our first forest school session just so happened to be on one of hottest days of the year but we were so grateful for the cool shade.
We explored the rules of forest school and then set to building homes for animals that we would find around our school environment.
The children worked brilliantly together and we cooled off with ice lollies at the end. We can’t wait for next week!
What a wonderful day at Hatton Farm! We were blessed with beautiful weather and took advantage by spending most of the day exploring in the sunshine.
We handled guinea pigs, got friendly with the goats, took risks in the soft play, went on a tractor safari , met some scaly friends and played the day away with our friends.
We loved being able to spend time together out of school and even the coach was exciting. We can’t wait for our next adventure.
A huge thank you to all who donated in either chocolate treats or money for Year One’s chocolate tombola on Friday.
They raised a fantastic £96 for Dementia services within our city and we are proud of them all for their help setting up and reminding others about the tombola.
We have made contact with our local branch of Dementia UK and are hoping to send the money to them so they can put it to use right away for service users within our city.

Our last fundraiser as a class raised £47.50 for the Macmillan Nurses so thank you to all who kindly donated!
Thank you to those of you who have already donated to our chocolate tombola.
This was due to take place after school today (27.05.22), the new date will now be Friday 10th June 2022.
It is hoped that we will then have had the chance to advertise this more to all year groups and have collected some more donations so we can make our final fundraiser of the year the best one yet.
A huge thank you to those who have already donated so generously to our walk against hunger campaign that we completed during the days of Lent. Just a reminder that these donations will be sent next week so please send in what you can.
The children walked over 200km around our playground over the 4 weeks of Lent and spent time reflecting on their own relationship with God as well as gaining a sense of empathy for those in our global community who must walk over 5km a day just to get food and water. Some classes took the challenge to the next level and walked barefoot! A beautiful testament to the lives of others.

Easter is the greatest and the most important feast in the Church. Today is a day of joy and celebration for Lent is over and we welcome Easter with happy and humble hearts. It marks the birth of our eternal hope. Jesus gave up His life for us, and from the grave He was raised to life again on the third day. New life rises from the ashes of death.
Today we are celebrating Christ’s victory over all burdens, the gift of eternal life for all who believe in Jesus. Every day, we are now given the chance to rise from the ashes of sin and guilt and can be refreshed and renewed. Remembering that Jesus still loves us and will continue to give us the strength we need.
The main and most important message of Easter is that nothing can harm us – not pain, sin, rejection, betrayal or death – because through believing in Christ we believe that he conquered all these, and we too, can conquer them if we continue to put our faith and trust in Him.
Lord, help me to remember your sacrifice and Resurrection. Help me to let you transform every cross, hardship, worry and burden in my life into joy. Lord, may your joy fill my life and be my strength in all things. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Year One were shocked and excited to find something very mysterious had happened in our grass area outside the classroom!
The children became detectives and investigated what was going on and made predictions as to what they think happened in our school. We moved around our school environment to check if we could find anymore clues.
The children made fantastic predictions from dragons to dinosaurs, foxes to polar bears they thought of many different options as to what has happened and hopefully we will discover more this week!
As many of you are aware, we are in the process of updating and renewing our reading books in school. We now have a huge amount of books that we are ready to give to new homes. We are asking for a suggested donation of 10p per book to put towards our new books, if possible, so that we can provide even more reading books for our children but feel free to come and have a look and take as many as you like.
We have lots of different genres both fiction and non fiction but also we have the classic ‘Biff, Chip and Kipper’ books that will be available too! Please come along after school tomorrow, Tuesday 5th April 2022, to have a look and give these books a new home!

We made Lenten crosses as a symbol that we will follow the journey of the cross this Lent and beyond. We collected sticks from our school environment and chose colours that were important to us to use as string. As we tied around our cross to pull the two bits together, we thought about what we need to ask of God this Lent and how we can follow in Jesus’ footsteps.
Fr Paul very kindly welcomed us to our Sunday family mass to bless these crosses so we could keep them in our houses throughout Lent and beyond as a reminder of what Jesus sacrificed for us and the promises we make each day to try and be like him.
At the start of this term we were tasked with seeking out people in our world, past and present, that have listened to and followed God’s call. Our first stop on our Vocation pilgrimage was to look towards people in the public eye, well known and famous to see how they have used their status and at times wealth to live out their calling from God and serve others.
We were delighted to get to celebrate the wonderful Vocations projects that the whole school completed. Such thought, research and creativity had gone into the projects and they showcased a brilliant array of people in our global community who are following God’s call.
What an incredible outpouring of spreading God’s love for others from people around our world who are listening to and living out their vocation! We were overwhelmed with the support and work produced in this project that we ran out of space on our allocated display so have now taken over a further 3 display places around our school! Go on a hunt and see if you can find your project over the next few days.
