It has been another busy week in Year 4. The whole class has worked hard and everyone is beginning to come to terms with the higher expectation of Year 4.
The results of our weekly spelling test were fantastic this week and it is clear that the class is practicing their spellings. Also, well done to everyone who is regularly reading at home and having their reading record signed, remember that this is an expectation.
Remember that homework is due in on Monday. Here’s a reminder of what it is:
Year 4 homework
LO: To write a log entry about a day on board the Peggy Sue.
The homework this week is about Kensuke’s Kingdom. Michael is now sailing around the world on board the Peggy Sue with his family. At the end of every day he writes an entry in his log book.
Your task is to write a log entry (a bit like a diary entry) as Michael, about one of his adventurous days at sea.
Think carefully about all of the jobs Michael has to do, the school work and all of the exciting things he sees and places he visits.
Your work should (success criteria):
- Be written in full sentences and paragraphs
- Be written in the past tense
- Be written in the first person (you are pretending to be Michael)
- Include the date of the day you are writing about (you can make this up)
- Have an explanation of what Michael has done on that day (you can make up lots of exciting things to add in here)
- Describe of how Michael is feeling (What is he enjoying? What is he worried about?)
