Children from Reception to Year 6 loved choosing gifts for their mums or other special family members ahead of Mother’s Day.
The excitement and thoughtful consideration on their faces as they made their choices was wonderful to see.

Many thanks to all who attended our St. Patrick’s Day coffee morning on Friday 15th March.
Year 5 did a great job presenting to us on their class saint and in helping host the event.
We were delighted by the very high turnout and it was great to see so many people from the wider community present.
Special thanks to Jarlath Mulhern (an former All Souls’ pupil!) and Fiona Hoey for the wonderful traditional Irish music; All Souls’ pupils from the Mary McHugh School of Irish Dancing, who danced so beautifully for us and also The Wild Mountain Boys for performing so many classic Irish songs.

Year 5 are exploring fractions this half term. Today we used numicon and pompoms to help us convert improper fractions to mixed numbers.
This half term, in art, Year 5 are exploring typography.
We first learnt about typography and looked at different artists, such as Louise Fili.
Then we began experimenting creating different words out of different mediums – such as irregular shapes and materials found in forest school.

Year 5 have been brushing up on their geography skills this week as we begin our new topic: ‘Changes in our Local Environment’.
First, we recapped the countries in the United Kingdom and, using Atlases, found out what the capital cities of these countries are. Then we discussed the differences between the United Kingdom, Great Britain and the British Isles – which blew our minds.
Then we began researching more into our region; the counties in the West Midlands and famous landmarks in our area.
Over the past 2 days, the children in year 5 have been working hard to plan, design and bake their own savoury rolls.
First, we began researching different types of savoury rolls currently on the market. We conducted our own market research with the aim of discovering the most popular flavours. We then tasted some of the current savoury rolls on the market and quickly discovered we didn’t like a lot of the flavour combinations.
Following this, we began to design and plan our own savoury rolls with flavours we liked. Then, we created a shopping list and took a trip down to Morrisons to purchase our ingredients. We had to work together to find the location of the items in the supermarket and stick to our budget.
Then it was time to get cooking! We practiced our chopping skills and created some fantastic looking savoury rolls!
BUT… our favourite part was the taste test and we LOVED the taste of our savoury rolls!

Year 5 have been working really hard this week writing their own canticle inspired by St Francis’ Canticle of Creation.
This morning Year 5 shared their Canticles with Year 2 to help them celebrate the Feast Day of St Francis.
Year One have been working really hard in maths on our fractions topic!
We enjoyed a story with ice pops as a treat after a warm day!
Year One and Two had so much fun playing with their friends at the beach on Monday!

This week we have been writing instructions on how to make a salad. We designed, planned, made and evaluated our salad. We loved practicing our cutting and grating skills. We showed great teamwork skills in our groups. Our favourite part was the taste test.
