Well done to the Gaelic team

By Mr A Cooke9th June 2017

Huge well done to the Gaelic football team who competed against 8 other Catholic schools this afternoon at Finbarr’s sports and social club.  Our squad of players from Year 5 and 6 played really well.  For many of them it was their first competitive action and so we were delighted to finish 4th.  Well done.

Netball tonight cancelled

By Mr A Cooke6th June 2017

Given the weather this morning, the current state of the playground and the forecast for the rest of the day I’ve made the decision to cancel tonight’s netball club.  There are now too many members to make training in the school hall viable.  Fingers crossed the weather improves soon!  Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Extra-curricular clubs – Summer Term

By Mr A Cooke28th April 2017

Thank you for returning the clubs request forms so promptly – as some of the clubs have size limits, for these clubs I have detailed below who places have been allocated to.  Unfortunately we have not been able to secure a basketball coach beyond May half-term, therefore it has not been offered this term.

Choir – no size limit – so all children who applied have been allocated places

Running Club – no size limit – so all children who applied have been allocated places

Gardening Club – all those who have currently returned forms have been allocated places.  No more places now remain.

Craft Club – all those who have currently returned forms have been allocated places.  Anyone now wishing to join should see Mrs Senyk

Recorder Club – all children who applied have been allocated places – spaces still available

Disco Dance Club – all children who applied have been allocated places – spaces still available

Computer Club – all children who applied have been allocated places – spaces still available

Art Club –  all those who have currently returned forms (from Year 3 and 4) have been allocated places.  Anyone now wishing to join should see Miss Frearson

Tennis Club – all children who applied have been allocated places – 5 spaces still available

Freestyle Dance – all children who applied have been allocated places – spaces still available

Netball – all those who have currently returned forms have been allocated places.  Anyone now wishing to join should see Mr Cooke

Cricket – As there were more requests than spaces, the first 16 responses have been allocated a place and are as follows: Lebron (Y4), James (Y4), Finn (Y4), Jude (Y4), Harry (Y4), Lorcan (Y4), Molly (Y4), Kian (Y4), Niamh (Y4), Luke (Y4), Jason (Y5), Caleb (Y5), Joshua (Y5), Georgia (Y5), Matthew (Y6), Josh T (Y6).  Mr Marsh may review numbers in a few weeks to allow those who are disappointed to join.  If not, those who have not managed to get a place this time will have priority the next time the club runs.

Table Tennis – over 20 requests were received on the first day – therefore 10 names have been drawn out of a hat as follows.  Those who requested but didn’t get in will be given priority next term.  List allocated places: Caleb (Y5), Dominika (Y5), Jude (Y4), Ellie (Y5), Lily Mae (Y5), Kian (Y4), Rebecca (Y5), Freya (Y5), Georgia (Y5), James (Y4)

Homework club – no need to apply – just turn up as necessary

Bingo Club – no need to apply – just turn up and play

Mr Youson is due back in school next week and so any clubs that he is running in addition to Computing club will be posted then.

If anyone is unsure as to what clubs they are in from the above, they can come and see me as I have a complete list.

Regards,

Mr Cooke
