The Department for Education has published new materials for parents of children in Years 2 and 6 who will be taking end of Key Stage assessments this year (SATs). The information comes in the form of a booklet, which can be accessed here, and two video clips, which can be viewed here. The purpose of the materials is to inform you about the tests that your child will be taking as well as how the results from these assessments will be reported to you.

Permanent: The following are the proposed hours of work but there may be room for negotiation for the right candidate who can only work part time:
Mon – Fri (TTO + 5 Teacher Training days, + 5 days)
8.15am – 12.45pm & 1.30 – 4.15pm daily)
Grade: 6
Salary: Pt 28 – 35 (pro rata to £24,472 – £30,178)

Just a reminder that there will be an opportunity for you to look through your children’s work books tonight after school. The school will be open from 3:15-5:15pm for parents of children in Years 1-6 and books will be laid out in your child’s classroom. Once the children have been dismissed, please enter and exit the building through the door which your child leaves at the end of the school day.
Teachers will be available in classrooms, but they will not be able to discuss issues unrelated to work books.
I would encourage all parents to take up this opportunity and spend a few minutes of quality time with your child sharing the wonderful work that they have completed this term.

A huge thank you to all the parents who came out in the cold to attend our session around online safety on Wednesday evening. Despite turnout to the event being somewhat disappointing, we were able to enjoy a very positive evening, filled with great discussion and sharing of information around this incredibly important issue, which we know is a huge worry for some of our parents.

We plan on running a repeat of the evening in the new year, in the hope that more parents will attend, as we believe that keeping our children safe online is something that we can only achieve by all working together.
