‘VIP Reader’
in Year 5 where someone new is invited into our classroom to read a chapter from our class book. We were so excited to find out who our very first VIP reader was this week…

We enjoyed a relaxation session today where we learnt some hints and tips about how to remain calm and relaxed when needed.
As part of their RE unit, learning about other faiths, Year 5 visited a Hindu Temple this week. We learnt so much and really enjoyed having a little dance and sing too!
In Design Technology, Year 5 were tasked with designing and creating their own ‘savoury bake’.
First, they researched what a savoury bake was, typical fillings and the variety of shapes they come in before designing 3 of their own creations.
They then conducted some market research to find out which option was most appealing to our parents, grandparents and staff.
After they had decided which product they were going to make, each group headed to Morrisons with their shopping list to buy their ingredients. They had to find the location of the items needed and compare prices to ensure they got the best deal!
Then, it was time to get cooking…
…. and finally tasting!
We really enjoyed welcoming Severn Trent into our classroom to talk to us about our world’s wonderful water, the clever sewer system and how we can help protect the environment. We learnt so much about how water works and its vital role here on earth!
