Lots of children tucked into their Christmas dinners and homemade Santa Claus biscuits today as they enjoyed lunch time together.
Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to prepare, cook and serve the children their dinners!

Year 5 and Year 6 had a fabulous time on the ice this afternoon. We were so incredibly impressed with their sheer determination and resilience.
A fun time was had by all – especially the teachers!
We even ‘bumped into’ Ben Hanlin who was practising with Carlotta for this year’s Dancing on Ice! We got some cool tips off him and he earned himself 65 extra supporters ready to cheer them on in the live shows!
Year 5 and 6 are off to Planet Ice at Coventry’s Skydome on Monday 16th December 2019.

We will be leaving school at 12.15pm (children will have their lunchtime earlier), ready to skate for 1pm. Our session ends at 3.30pm and therefore we are expected back at school at a later time of 4.15pm.
If you wish for your child to be picked up from the ice rink, then please make sure a member of the Year 5 or 6 team is aware of this.
Children must come into school in their school uniform with a warm change of clothes to change into before we leave. They should bring with them a warm coat, gloves and thick socks (or multiple pairs of thin socks).
The cost for this trip is £5.50. Please pay this through SIMS Pay.
We are very excited for this annual tradition and hope you are too!
Year 6 wore their Christmas jumpers and accessoried today to support Free Radio’s Christmas Mission!

The money we raised will go to the Cash for Kids charity to support local children this Christmas who could wake up to no presents.
Year Six had the wonderful opportunity to visit Queens Road Baptist Church yesterday. We got to rewind to the first ever Christmas, by joining the different characters of the Nativity on their journeys and interviewing people like King Herod, Angel Gabriel and Mary and Joseph.
Year 6 headed over to The Maudslay on Monday afternoon to sing a few Christmas Carols to their family, friends and other members of the public.
Thank you to everyone who came along to give them a fabulous audience and to The Maudslay for being great hosts! We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you also to those who donated too – we will let you know how many pennies their beautiful voices managed to raise! 🙂
… is a time of waiting and preparation ahead of the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming.
We began the first week of Advent with a class prayer service led by Isla, Simeon and Bridget in which we were reminded about the importance of and meaning behind the Season of Advent.
We then created our class wreath for our prayer focus as we remembered the significance of the symbolic Advent wreath.
Throughout this season of Advent, Year 6 have been given the mission of being a Secret Saint to another member of our class. Each day, they will have special acts of kindness to carry out. This is to help us take daily moments to pause the hustle and bustle of everyday school life and prepare our hearts and minds for the second coming of Jesus.
We have also spent some time with our prayer friends, using scripture to explain to them all about the theme of the first week of Advent: HOPE.
As always, they listened and participated in the shared prayer service beautifully!
We have lots of other lovely things planned this Advent too, including:
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this year’s Christmaz Bazaar another huge success!

We hope you all had as much fun as we did and managed to win a little (or big!) something too!
Thank you to all school staff, the PTA members, School Council, Choir, parents, helpers, stallholders, children, grandparents, guardians & all visitors for being part of our day.
We could not do it without you!
Our next event is Santa’s Grotto on Thursday 12th December! For more information, please see our weekly newsletter.
