To end our revision sessions in preparation for SATs next week, Year 6 took part in a pub-style quiz to test their maths, reading and SPaG knowledge. Each round focused on a different aspect, ending with some trickier questions in their bonus round on ‘Staff Knowledge’.
The children tucked into some crisps and popcorn whilst sipping their drinks and battling it out to win a prize.
They put their heads together to try and win each round.
It was close but the winners were…
Well done!
Good luck for next week Year 6 – get ready to show off everything you’ve learnt! 🙂
This week’s spellings are:

These will be tested on Tuesday 7th May 2019

Letters are being sent home today outlining the Sex and Relationships Education programme which will be being delivered to Y6 children during the week commencing Monday 20th May. To date, the children have explored respect of self and of others and friendships through our R-time programme. This section deals with other areas such as anatomy, personal hygiene and ‘how a baby is made’.
Parents will have the opportunity to view clips from the DVD used with the children 3.30 – 4.30pm Monday 20th May and also gain an understanding of the topics covered.
Throughout the week, the boys and girls will watch the video together and complete some follow up work. On Friday 24th May at 2pm, the boys and girls will work separately. Boys will work with Mr Cooke to gain a better understanding of menstruation and have the opportunity to ask some questions. Girls will take a closer look at menstruation, products available, how they work, hygiene etc. A female relative of the girls is invited to join this session. Please do not worry if you cannot join the girls as usually enough adults are able to attend the session and we split the girls up into small groups.
Please complete the reply slip attached to the letter indicating if you are able to attend the meeting or (for girls) the workshop session.
Kind regards,
Mrs Hartwell

We hope you liked your Easter cards that we made using oil pastels.
Year 6 have been reading lots of different news stories to help them get into the shoes of a journalist, ready to write their own article next week!
Year 6 spent the morning grafittying our tables with the measurements of angles to practise their protractor skills!
Year 6 absolutely loved getting completely filthy in this year’s All Souls’ Warrior Run. Thank you so much to Mr Youson and everyone else who organised and made sure the day ran smoothly and safely! Thank you also to everyone who sponsored the children too! My favourite part was watching them being hosed down at the end!
Year 6 have been investigating the effects exercise and rest have on our pulse rates. Ask them what they found out!
