Year 6 explored how shadows are made this afternoon by creating their own shadow puppet performances.

Year 6 showcased their talents at The Maudslay this afternoon by treating everyone to some Christmas carols. Once again, the class received many compliments on their singing as well as their behaviour. Well done Year 6!!

Year 6 will be performing Christmas carols, along with other festive songs, at The Maudslay next Wednesday (13.12.2017). The performance will begin at 13:30, please do come along and support if you are able to. If the children would like to bring and wear some festive head-wear (Santa hat, reindeer antlers etc.) then they are very welcome to do so!

Year 6 and Reception shared a beautiful Advent prayer service this afternoon. Caleb, Lemuel and Carey did a wonderful job of leading the service and were supported by Lily, Niamh and Connor who read bidding prayers with the support of their Prayer Friends, Stanley, Zachery and Nicholas. Well done everyone!

Years 5 and 6 represented to school fabulously today at the Coventry Cathedral. The children performed ‘Bells Ring Out’ as part of the service, receiving many compliments on their beautiful singing! Well done to everyone and a big thank you to Mrs Ellis for putting the song together at such short notice.

Year 6 showed off their orienteering skills this afternoon by completing a new route that involved leaving the school campus. Using their map skills they were able to navigate themselves accurately around the local area, representing the school brilliantly in the process. Well done!
Year 6 continued to explore their science topic of ‘Light’ today by making periscopes out of cereal boxes. Thank you to all the children who brought boxes in. Here they are in action:
Year 6 finished off their Geometric Reasoning unit today by applying their knowledge of coordinates in a game of ‘Battleships’!
Well done to Harvey who was the first to sink all of his opponent’s ships!
Please can Year 6 save and bring in any empty and unwanted cereal boxes next week. We are hoping to use them for an investigation in science.

Year 6 are learning about the climate in different cities around the world as part of their ‘Fascinating Forecasts’ topic in geography. The class linked their geography work to their ICT work by create weather reports describing the climate of one of their allocated cities.
