Year six will be leaving School at around 1:45. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly what time the coach will arrive to collect us.
There is no phone tree this year. I will post updates on the school website and on the school Twitter account (@AllSoulsPrimary).

Year 4 had a busy afternoon recording information on the weather in different cities across the world. They also made their own rainfall gauges that they will use to measure the weekly rainfall in the school playground, recording their results in a graph.
As you know, Year 6 will be going on their residential visit to Dol-Y-Moch on Thursday (2nd Nov). Thank you all for sending back the necessary paperwork and payment. You should have received all of the relevant information regarding the visit, but here is a breakdown of some of the key things to be aware of:
Pick-up/drop-off
Please arrange for your child to arrive at school at the normal time on 2nd November wearing their school tracksuit.
We are being picked up by the coach at 13:45 on 02/11/17. If you are coming along to wave the children off, please ensure that the driveway and road are kept as clear as possible for the coach to turn around.
We are scheduled to arrive back at school at approximately 13:15 on Monday 06/11/17. Please arrange for your child to be collect at this time.
Staff and communication
The staff going on the trip are Mr Marsh, Miss Fox, Mrs Jilks and Mrs McCloskey. We will post on the school website with photos and updates of what the children are getting up to as regularly as possible. This will depend on access to the internet.
Practical information
The class will be split into activity groups and duty groups during the day; these groups will be mixed with children from St John Vianney. Each child in the class has also expressed a preference for who they would like to share a room with. I can assure you that we will try our best to accommodate these preferences, but please appreciate that we are restricted by the rooms available.

An additional copy of the initial letter that was sent out can also be downloaded below. This provides further information including some guidance on spending money.

Information for Parents – DYM 1:1
Year 6 had a great day today creating their own ancient Egyptian artwork. The class took on the roles of ‘scribes’, doing the skilled job of inscribing hieroglyphics onto their papyrus. After school it was the job of the slaves (Mr Marsh and Miss Quinn), to build the pyramid! The children also created their own Egyptian coffin artwork.

Thank you to Jake, Zach and Julia for preparing and delivering a wonderful prayer service to the class today. Year 6 gathered, listened and responded beautifully together and all offered some very thoughtful prayers. The prayer service was also interactive and even included a quiz at the end!
Year 6 met their Prayer Friends for the first time today. Each child in Year 6 found out which Reception child they will be supporting throughout their first year at All Souls’. The class loved spending some of the afternoon getting to know them and playing with them.
We wish Reception all the best at their Welcome Mass this weekend.
Year 6 created some fabulous art work yesterday based on their visit to Solar Fest last week (see earlier post).
We used images of the sun taken through different filters as our inspiration (see picture below)
and used a mixture of wax and paint to create the effects. Here they are in action.
Thank you to everyone who baked and brought in cakes for the MacMillan coffee morning today. This is a great cause to raise money for and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part. 
Thank you and well done to Olivia, Frey and Ellie for putting together and delivering a beautiful prayer service today. The service was on the theme of charity, to go along with our MacMillan Coffee Morning. The girls did a brilliant job and the class offered some thoughtful and heartfelt prayers.
Year 6 had a great day out at The University of Warwick today. We attended SolarFest, a day all about the research that the university does into the sun and solar energy. Highlights included using solar telescopes and visiting the planetarium!
The class represented the school brilliantly and received several compliments for the way they conducted themselves. Well done Year 6! Here are some photos of what we got up to.
