Please note that there is no longer a whole school mass tomorrow (Monday 9th December).
Letters have been sent home regarding the election of a new Parent Governor.
We have three candidates; please do take the time to read their supporting statements and ensure you vote.
Ballot papers can be returned to the school office in a sealed envelope or posted directly in to the ballot box available.
Children may bring their own devices to the Silent Disco – ipods, mobile phones, iPads. Don’t forget headphones and make sure playlists are downloaded to the device. They must be kept on flight mode where applicable – children will not be allowed to take and share photos. Please note that devices are brought in at your own risk.
Please collect your child from the pedestrian entrance that leads on to the playground.
To celebrate our special day – All Souls’ Feast Day – we will be holding a ‘Silent Disco’. We will only have a limited number of MP3 players and headphones so children are encouraged to bring their own devices. MP3 hire is charged at 50p.
Reception will have the own disco and treats at 2:15pm, free of charge.
This will be followed by KS1, 3:30pm-4:30pm (£3 per child) who must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
KS2 will have their disco at 4:45pm-6:15pm (£4 per child).
The entry fee will include a cone of chips and unlimited squash.
Bring your pennies – there will be a sweet stall which we expect to be very popular! Further details will be released soon!
Irish Dancing is starting on Wednesday 6th November from 3:15pm for children in Rec through to Y6. Please book via SIMS Pay.
On Friday 4th October 2019, the whole school will be celebrating ‘Brighten up for Harvest’. This is an annual event across the Catholic community and is always well supported at All Souls. This year we are aiming to raise money for CAFOD but also support our local community. We are asking the children to come in bright colours – the brighter the better – and bring with them £1 in support of the global charity CAFOD. To help our local community we are also planning to donate items to the local food bank; any donation of non-perishable items would be greatly appreciated. If you are struggling for ideas the food bank is currently in urgent need of tinned fish, tinned meat, rice, rice pudding, long life milk (UHT), tinned fruit, long life juice, squash and toiletries. At the moment they have plenty of beans, cereal, pasta and soup so would prefer the other items if possible. Our chaplaincy team will be delivering these items to the food bank on the Friday afternoon so these items would be gratefully received in school in the morning.
Quiz night is back! If you would like to attend, please see the letter attached to the newsletter email and return this to school by Thursday 3rd October along with full payment. Tickets will be sent home with your child in an envelope. Hot food and drinks are available to pre-order. Tickets cost £5 for an adult and £3 for a child. We recommend teams of between 5 and 10 people. The children will have their own quiz to take part in. We look forward to welcoming you to what is always a fun packed evening!
