Year 5 kicked off our new text today with a magical bang!

The Sorting Hat sorted us all into the four houses of Hogwarts! We will be working together in these houses (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff) in order to earn house points this term. I wonder which house will win this term’s house cup?

We then read chapter one and we’re already hooked. We can’t wait to find out what happens to Harry and his friends!

Today, we made our class advent calendar of kind deeds. We will open the calendar each day and carry out the kind deed hidden behind the door. This will help us to prepare our hearts for the arrival of Jesus.

This week, we will be selling raffle tickets to win this giant cuddly teddy bear!  Tickets are 50p each ( you can buy as many as you like!) and will be sold during break times this week in the hall by Lily and Rebecca. The lucky winner will be announced on Friday!

Today, as part of our Design and Technology curriculum, Year 5 made rocky road desserts. We each designed our own twist on the traditional recipe and made some wonderful creations! Let’s hope they taste as good as they look!

Here at All Souls’, we’re supporting Anti-bullying Week!

Today, in Year 5, we discussed what the definition of bullying is and how we can prevent it at school. We made posters to advise children on what to do should they experience bullying or see it happening.

Wow! What a pleasure it was being in the audience for the year 5 audition for the Children in Need talent show. Congratulations to those children that were successful and will be representing us on Friday.
