It’s CHRISTMAS DINNER DAY!
It’s CHRISTMAS DINNER DAY!
Year 2 went to post their letters to Father Christmas. They made a special wish, as they posted it.
The day started off playing different board games. Taking it in turns to play and listening to each other. They had to read the instructions and be patient with each other.
We then did our show and tell.
We then retold a traditional tale in our table group and changed one part.
We spent the afternoon playing Numbots and practicing the nativity.
We received a letter from Father Christmas asking if we were planning on sending him a letter this year because December is only 8 days away and he has only received 4 letters from children in Year 2. We will be writing our letters in our English lessons. He left us freashly, baked gingerbread biscuits that Mrs Claus baked.
Year 2 had a visit from the West Midlands fire service based in Coventry to learn the difference between how they tackled fire in 1666 ( the Great Fire of London) and now. We learnt what to do in an emergency and how to look for hazards.
It is not everyday we get snow! Year 2 had a great time having a play in the snow, this morning.
Thank you to the school council and Mrs Rae for organising an amazing Monster Ball. The children had a great time.
We have been learning all about instruction writing. Today, we learnt the importance in clear instructions. We made jam sandwiches ready to write our own instructions, next week.
