Reception Christmas Activities – wk bg 14th Dec

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We’ve had another busy week in Reception finishing off our Christmas decorations and calendars and making final preparations  for our Nativity Play.

We have a very exciting week ahead with Christmas activities happening every day. On Monday morning we have our dress rehearsal in front of the whole school which will be videoed – if you wish to purchase a DVD please put in your order after the performance along with your £5 payment. Children will be performing ‘The Nativity’ for parents on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30 and Wednesday morning at 9.30 – I’m sure you will be impressed by the children as they have worked so hard over the last couple of weeks. On Wednesday the children will also be having their Christmas dinner – if your child usually has a packed lunch but would like a hot dinner on this day please let the office know. On Thursday morning the whole school will be attending mass and then in the afternoon we are off to The Belgrade Theatre to see ‘Santa’s Rusty Robot’ – a separate letter is being sent out today about pick – up times etc.

Finally, on Friday it is Christmas /Party Outfit Day. Our Year 6 Prayer friends are coming to make a Christmas decoration with their partners in the morning and then in the afternoon it is party time! Food will be provided for the children so they just need to come in wearing their party clothes. Here’s to a busy and exciting week ahead!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We’ve had another very busy week with our Nativity Play practices and making Christmas decorations. On Tuesday the children helped to make our Advent wreath with Mrs Scullion and they have been continuing to learn all about Advent and the Christmas story in R.E with Mrs Smith.

The children have enjoyed making Christmas cards, salt dough decorations and stars this week (see class photos) so glitter seems to be sticking everywhere! The class  went to the hall this afternoon to hang their prayer stars on the Christmas tree. We also had a class fashion parade this morning as the children were very keen to show off their outfits they had chosen for non-school uniform day – a big thank you to everyone who has donated chocolate, gifts and bottles for the Christmas bazaar tomorrow.

Finally a big thank you to supporting us with the new end of day arrangements and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at the Christmas bazaar.

Reception Christmas events

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to our first Reception Class blog. This week the children have been doing a fantastic job of rehearsing for their joint Nativity play with Nursery – thank you so much for helping the children to learn their lines. The children have their dress rehearsal in front of the whole school on Monday 14th December. Performances for families take place on Tuesday 15th December at 1:15 and Wednesday 16th December at 9:30.

On Wednesday 2nd December you are welcome to come into Reception class between 3.30 – 5.00 to look at your child’s books and the work they have been doing so we look forward to seeing you then.

For the next couple of weeks we will be focussing on Advent and getting ready for Christmas. As well as our Nativity play rehearsals we will still be doing phonics on a daily basis and carrying on with our reading activities but we will be doing a lot more creative Christmas craft activities so beware of the glitter fairies when you come into the classroom!
