This week, our Year 6 children will begin their KS2 SATs.
We want you, our lovely unique and special Y6 bunch, to know something very important before you even open a test paper:
You are already a success.
These tests may measure some of the things you have learned in Maths, Reading, Grammar and Spelling, but they do not measure the wonderful gifts and talents that God has placed within each of you. They cannot measure your kindness, your creativity, your sense of humour, your courage, your compassion, your faith, or the way you care for others. They do not measure the way you make people smile, help your friends, persevere when things are difficult, or live out the Gospel values each day.
Each one of you is uniquely created and deeply loved by God. As it says in Scripture:
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
— Psalm 139:14
Over the years, we have watched you grow into thoughtful, caring and resilient young people, and we could not be prouder of everything you have achieved already. SATs are only one small moment in your journey, not the thing that defines you.
This week, remember to:
- Try your best
- Stay calm and positive
- Get plenty of rest
- Believe in yourself
- Say a little prayer when you need strength
Most importantly, remember that you are never alone. God walks beside you in every challenge, and your teachers, families and school community are all cheering you on.
As a gentle start to each day, breakfast will be available every morning from 8:00am. We would love for you to join us. It is a chance to relax, spend time with your friends, settle your nerves and ease into the day with a calm and happy start before the tests begin.
We are keeping all of our Year 6 children in our prayers this week. May God bless you with peace, confidence and courage.
You have worked so hard, and we are incredibly proud of every single one of you.
With love and prayers,
Your All Souls Family
