Our prayer garden renovations

Our Chaplaincy Team have been working hard all year to get work underway for the prayer garden and we hit a key milestone this week. The new fence panels got the All Souls stamp with words, chosen by the children, being painted to show what they think our school community is all about.

A huge thank you to Mrs Elkins who brought our vision into reality and worked tirelessly all day to create such a beautiful space.

Next on our to do list:

Pressure washing

Cleaning

New slate for the floor

 

We look forward to completing our renovations before the summer is out.

Coronation Celebrations

The sun shone down on us as we celebrated the King’s Coronation with our school community. It was the perfect way to end such a busy week and was enjoyed by all. A whole school Coronation Conga around the site, music, masks and food was the perfect way to commemorate such a special event.

War artwork and creating memorials

We completed our war and peace unit of history with some reflective painting focused on scenes from WWII. We also created our own war memorials to remember those that fought and those that have fallen in wars.

Speed Sainting Event 

Please join us in celebrating the Y6 children’s wonderful projects about their chosen saint.

This is a very important step in their Confirmation preparation and we would love as much support for them as possible. A lot of work and effort has gone into getting the children to this point and we want to celebrate with you; as we look forward to being witnesses to their next step of faith.

Whether you have a child in Y6, or not, come along to explore the Saints chosen, the children’s projects and their reasons behind choosing to take the name of this Saint.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Fighting Fit – Boxercise

What a way to finish the week! Year 6 have been working on their boxing skills in PE. They learnt some basic moves and skills to take on an opponent using pads and gloves. The children were brilliant and it was great to see them progress so quickly. They got to grips with the movement and stance needed and we cannot wait to learn some more drills and sequences next week.

 

A day exploring Coventry’s past

As part of our history topic, War and Peace, we went to explore our local environment to see the damage that war brought to Coventry. We learnt about that fateful day when the bombs landed on our great city and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of thousands. The children were brilliant and inquisitive, wanting to know more about the place that they call home.

 

Gymnastic Fun in Year 6

Our new PE unit has got off to a great start with the children working in pairs to perform routines showing movement, travelling, balances and holds that they have learnt.

This week we explored our apparatus and again thought of innovative ways of travelling and balancing to move across the apparatus.
