Hello Everyone,

We are so proud of Nursery for performing so well in our Early Years assembly and thank you so much for coming to support them this morning – they were amazing! This week the children have loved role playing in the Ice – cream parlour and in the next couple of weeks we will be making our own ice – cream and ice lollies. Also to tie in with the Summer theme, could the children please bring in a holiday photo that we could put on our Summer display. Have a good weekend.

Hello Everyone,

Lets hope the rain stops for the half term holiday next week! Luckily the sun shone brightly for our trip to Ash End Farm on Wednesday and the Nursery children and adults had a brilliant time. The children had great fun and learnt lots about the different farm animals – it was a really valuable and informative experience and I have to say the children’s behaviour and attitude were fantastic. See you back at school on Monday 4th June and don’t forget it is our Foundation Stage Assembly on Friday 8th June.

Hello Everyone,

Great fun has been had by all this morning for our royal wedding celebrations. The children looked splendid in all their wedding finery. The high light of the morning has to be our mock wedding ceremony followed by dancing, games and party food. We hope you all have a lovely week end and enjoy the real royal wedding tomorrow!

Hello Everyone,

Our sunflowers are really beginning to shoot up now and we have begun to plant the pea seeds today that Sophie brought in. We have also planted more bedding plants that Emily brought in for us – lets hope the sunshine continues with the occasional shower of rain to help them grow. This week we have been looking at information books and thinking about other places we can get information from such as the Internet, computer programs, sat nav and menus etc. In Maths we have also begun to think about simple practical number problems and working out how to put together tricky jigsaw puzzles. The Sims Agora is now up and running online so trip money can be paid from today. Finally, I will send a reminder letter home on Monday about our Royal wedding celebrations next Friday. Enjoy the weekend.

Hello Everyone,

We’ve had another busy week planting. Thank you to Jamie who brought in some beautiful violas to put in our raised bed. We have also planted different flower seeds which should bloom for the Summer – thank you to anyone who has donated any seeds to us. Our potato plants are also thriving and the children have been very excited at how quickly their sunflower seeds are growing.

We will send a letter home next week with details of our Nursery Trip – it is on Wednesday 23rd May to Ash End Farm so pop this date on your calendars. On Friday 18th May we will be celebrating the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle so thought it would be lovely if the children could dress in their finery for a wedding – so brush off those suits, bridesmaids dresses and party clothes. Enjoy the long bank holiday weekend and hopefully the sunshine!

Hello Everyone,

Despite being a wet week we have still managed to get outside in Nursery – fingers crossed the weather will begin to pick up again soon. We had lots of Princesses again in Nursery on Monday as well as a Knight and lots of red clothes to celebrate St.George’s Day – well done children. This week all the children have planted a sunflower seed – so we will be eagerly anticipating the first shoots to appear – we will keep the plants in Nursery so we can watch how they grow , then the children can bring them home in June ready to plant in their garden.

Next week we will be doing some more planting outside and if anyone has any spare bedding plants that we can plant they would be gratefully received! Finally a BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU to you all for sponsoring the children to do their sponsored walk around the field over Coundon Wedge – you raised an amazing £109 pounds which we will put towards our fund to buy building bricks! Hope the sun comes out for the weekend!

Hello Everyone,

We hope you had a good Easter break and what a beautiful week to start our new Summer Term! Because of the warm weather the children have spent most of their time outside this week. With this in mind could you please make sure that the children come to Nursery with sun cream all ready applied and then if children go to All Sorts in the afternoon the staff will apply more sun cream at lunch time if it is needed. Could the children also bring a sunhat to Nursery. We had a fantastic time over at Coundon Wedge this morning – the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves exploring, looking for signs of Spring and being out in the open and they have asked to go out again in the mini bus which we will endeavor to do. The sun came out just in time for us to do our sponsored walk around the field and then to finish with a mini picnic – well done children! Thank you to the mums and helpers who came along to support us. I will let you know how much money we have raised in a couple of weeks time when all money has been collected. Next week we will be doing some more planting (our flower pots are looking beautiful at the moment) and each child will be planting a sunflower seed. On Monday it is St.Georges Day so the children can come to Nursery dressed in red and white or they can dress up as a dragon, knight or princess. Enjoy the weekend!

Hello Everyone,

This week the weather has finally allowed us to plant our potato seedlings so come the Summer we should have a plentiful crop of potatoes to dig up, cook and eat! The last few days have been spent making pop cakes and chocolate nests for Easter and we ended today on an Easter egg hunt. Thank you to all of your kind contributions to our Lenten charity boxes – the children invaded Mrs Cannons office this morning when they handed them in.  I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and we will see you all in two weeks time to start our Summer term – where has the time flown to!? When we return to Nursery I will also be known as Mrs Schofield! Happy Easter everyone!

Hello Everyone,

Where has the Spring term gone to? Only one more week left until Easter! We have had a very energetic morning this morning running around the playground raising money for Sport Relief – the children were brilliant – I don’t know where they get their energy from! The children have also been making Easter cards and Spring flowers this week. Our high light yesterday was cutting the cress we started growing last week and eating it in the sandwiches we made – there was a big thumbs up all round from the children. Next week we will be continuing our Easter and planting theme. Remember to write down any jobs the children do at home for Lent on the slip and pop some pennies in the box for The Father Hudson charity. Have a good weekend.

Look how much our cress has grown!

Peeling eggs is tricky business!

Egg mayo – yum!

Just a little more cress needed.

These sandwiches are good!

I think circle sandwiches are the best.

Hello Everyone,

We have had lots of little green leprechauns running around Nursery this morning for our St.Patrick’s day celebrations. Our Garden Centre opened in the week and the children have been very keen to get involved in role play in this area. We have also been growing cress seeds  and the children have been very excited to see how quickly the seeds have grown – our plan is to make sandwiches next week and sprinkle our home grown cress in them. Our Nursery is looking very Spring- like at the moment – the children have been doing some beautiful observational drawings and paintings of daffodils and hyacinths. Continuing with our growing theme next week we will be planting potatoes ready to harvest and eat in the Summer. If anyone has any bedding plants or seeds we could also plant these would be very welcome. Finally, have a good St.Patrick’s day tomorrow and let’s hope the snow stays away!
