The basketball team played their final league games of the season yesterday against Richard Lee Y6 and Willenhall. All three teams had unbeaten records and which ever team won on the night would automatically go through to the Grand Final on Sunday 22nd May.
We played Richard Lee Y6 first and started off extremely strong building up an early 6 point lead. They managed to keep this lead all the way through the game and finished by winning 20 points to 14.
Our next game against Willenhall decided who went through to the final as they also won their opening game. This was a very tough game and we went 6 points down in the first quarter. In the next quarter Kayden played superbly and scored three baskets making the game a tie at 6-6. The final two quarters were very tight with Willenhall taking a slight lead 10-8. The boys never gave up and although Willenhall had chances to extend their lead Kayden scored an equaling basket with seconds left. This took the game into 2 minutes overtime, again either team could of won the game but thanks to a fantastic shot form Andy we managed to grab the win and book our place in the Grand Final.
